Bharathi Pathippagam is a respected Tamil publishing house established in October 1950 by P. L. Chidambaram. Since its inception, the institution has remained active and committed to the growth of Tamil literature. After the founder, the publication was efficiently guided by his son, Rajendran, who further strengthened its reputation and later entrusted it to the third generation, under whose leadership it continues to flourish.
Over the decades, Bharathi Pathippagam has had the privilege of publishing works by eminent and highly regarded personalities such as Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, Kalki Krishnamurthy, C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji), Sujatha, Rajesh Kumar, Vairamuthu, Kripananda Variyar, T. V. Venkataraman, Silamboli Chellappan, V. C. Kulandhaisamy, Murugu Rajendran, Niranjan Bharathi, Asana Andiappan, and the celebrated historical novelist Sandilyan.
The publication also successfully brought out the widely acclaimed journal Nallakalam, which enjoyed tremendous popularity and sold in lakhs of copies. Bharathi Pathippagam is particularly renowned for its astrology books by Puliyur Balu and for publishing notable historical works such as Vijaya Mahadevi by Sandilyan. With the blessings of its founders and the continued support of its loyal readers, Bharathi Pathippagam remains a distinguished name in Tamil publishing to this day.
At present, Bharathi Pathippagam publishes its children’s books under the imprints Run Publications and Kamadhenu Nilayam, further expanding its contribution to young readers and educational literature.
With the continued encouragement and support of our well-wishers and readers, we look forward to carrying forward this literary legacy for generations to come.
